After Jimmy’s party, Jess and I were headed New Hampshire to stay with our friend. We were EXHAUSTED, yet when we got to our friend’s we were so pumped that we all stayed up till 6am shooting the shit. Ya know how it is when you get Blockheads together…we can’t shut up! We finally went to bed when we realized our friend’s husband would be getting up for work. Woops.
When we woke up, it was basically a lounge and eat kinda day. The sky was grey and it was freaking cold out. I was more than happy snuggling under my NKOTB sleeping bag and shoving my face with food (my second lover in life). Again, we talked about what else? New Kids. It’s amazing how so many people from different parts of the country (even the world) have been brought together, because of these five men. So there we were, 2 girls from New York, 1 girl from New Hampshire and one from Miami just sitting there eating and talking away.
We eventually had to leave, because we had to meet up with our other friend, Jen, and attend the Blockhead Dinner at the Hard Rock. We were excited to meet the girls we have been talking to on Twitter for the past year or so. Finally getting to the hotel, we parked the car and lugged all our crap across the street to where my friend Jen was to meet us. We talked for a long time, but have never met. It was so great to finally meet her. Jess, Jen and I were cracking up the whole time we were together. We were finally ready to head to dinner where 100 Blockheads would be in attendance.
We ate, we chatted and we got a big surprise. Mr. Donnie Wahlberg showed up. Armando came in first and told everyone what was about to go down and people needed to stay calm. When he got to our table, he just stared me down and kept saying “Donnie is about to come in.” He must have said it three times looking dead in my eye. Each time I said a relaxed “okay” or “alright” and then looked around to see if he was looking at anyone else. Nope. I asked Jess if she saw that, she laughed and said she did. So weird.
Finally the man himself comes in, walking right into the crowd and people start screaming, but Armando was worrying about me…the girl who was still munching on her burger. Go figure. Donnie was sweet giving hugs and talking to people, typical Donnie behavior. While making the rounds, this fool grabbed a few chocolate chip cookies off the table. He slammed that down while talking to people and grabbed another. He was just walking around the room holding this cookie, then he spots it. CLAYMATION!!!! Yes the Hard Rock was playing a claymation cartoon and he lit up like a Christmas tree. It was hilarious.
The table I was sitting at just sat there as he went around the room, just waiting. He finally made it over to our area. This guy skips over me AGAIN! He always does that to me, making me work for the hugs. However, he went to my girl Jen and gave her a really big hug, then he found his girl. Jessica! Gave her a big, long hug (cookie still intact in the right hand) and everyone awed. It was a precious sight. Then he got to PingPong! Eeeek! He was standing there yelling about how the hate needs to stop and to not pick on Ping Pong anymore. As all this was going on, she tried to climb into Donnie’s coat. Freaking adorable (yes adorable!) He talked to Michelle and I have to say she held her own. It was her first time meeting a New Kid and it is always hardest with Donnie, because he is so touchy feely that it can make you nervous. She worked it though and had an adorable moment.
Donnie continued to do his rounds, cookie still in hand, hugging and talking to people. Finally, it is my turn. Now the day before, he was making fun of me for what I like to call “talking loudly” when in fact, it is just yelling. I do it to all the New Kids, it is just a habit and Jessica makes fun of me ALL the time for it. Donnie is in front of me and the first thing that comes out of my mouth is, “I know you hate my life, but let‘s hug.” He took me into his arms for that big Wahlberg hug (I am still thinking about that half eaten cookie that is now in my hair) and says, “I don‘t hate you, you‘re the cutest!” and he smirked and nudges my face with a closed fist. Nowwwww…if you know me you know my one dream was to get punched or slapped by Donnie, a la Saw II (Yes it is sick and NO I do not condone domestic violence in anyway, but that shit is HOT! Go ahead and judge me if you wish…). I took that nudge and smirk home with me as a Christmas present. I was over the moon. Thank you Donnie and goodnight.
One picture of me getting the hug...notice the cookie.
The man stayed and chatted with everyone in that room. What other celebrity does that? None. Everyone was relatively calm, so I think that helped too. However, when he started to leave people began to lose it a bit. This fool loves to hear the screams so he comes running on back and just yells (mind you it is a crowded FAMILY restaurant, but he is Donnie Fucking Wahlberg and doesn’t care) “I FUCKING LOVE YOU!!!!” Welllll how can anyone stay calm after that? I love that crazy idiot.
All the Blockheads that came to the dinner at The Hard Rock
After Donnie left, people hung out for a while, but needed to get to Rob’s after party. Jess, Jen and I decided to skip out on the party considering they were calling for a blizzard the next day. We went back to our room and Jen started to break out presents for us. She gave us our (what I now call) “Bibles”…the Lynn Goldsmith book! We pretty much died at that point. We were both almost in tears. Then she told us to look further. DVDs of old TV footage and concerts, T-Shirts (which Jessica let me have…because they were both Joe shirts) everything! It was magical. Then…there is was. My own little Joe doll. I used to have a Jordan doll (bc I was a Jordan girl), but my parents gave it away and I was crushed. Now though…I have my own Joe doll. Yes, being 22 I shouldn’t be as excited as I was, but it was almost Christmas and I was excited! Jess said I could play with it as long as I didn’t bring it to bed with me. Har-Har! We stayed up talking late into the night and prepared for the next day…House of Blues day!
To set the scene of my set up that night...I'm 3 again!
Jessica caught me...I was holding hands with Joe.
