Grace and I had an AMAZING time! A-MA-ZING!!! We left Thursday morning and of course flipped in the car when we got Donnie's text (umm his Twitter message...back when twitter was the 'new big thang') and we took it as a sign. The whole way there we kept saying "we are getting all the love, backstage and on the bus"…welllll 2 of the 3 happened and almost 3 out of 3. Fucking Popo. Here we go…
We got to the arena after finishing ½ a bottle of vodka (straight…bitches don't play!) and having our cab driver (we were responsible!) stop at the liquor store on the way to the arena for more vodka. We were set with drinks for the night. I know we 1. sound like lushes and 2. sound like we are going to be obnoxious...surprisingly the latter never happened. We got to our seats and we were 3rd row, close to where the front stage juts out. 3rd row? Almost dead center? AMPED!!! We danced our butts off during the Jabbawockees and waited for the guys.
Once they came out it was like a big blur! It went SOOOOOO fast!!! So many signs to hold, pictures to be taken and air kisses being thrown. Our secret weapon for this show were snorkels. Yes my friends, these 2 bitches wore SNORKELS and held signs that said "FLASH" and "FLOOD". Donnie saw them during CIWYW and just started laughing. We were then on during the "FACETIME" segment...snorkels and all!!! Loved it! We had other signs that they all LOVED!!! We ripped a page out of our friend's book and made a sign, "Danny…Body Shots?" HE LOVED IT!!! At one point, he looked at us and lifted up his shirt and did this sexy thing with his tongue. Normally not a Danny girl, but it messed me up for a bit, not gonna lie. Grace got love from Jordan with her sign. Whereas I think he just hates me, because he saw my sign "JK: I need a fix, so come here and blow me a kiss!"…NOTHING! He just stared at it and looked kinda puzzled. I still love him, but he wants me out of his life. Especially with what happened during the "Let's Get This" speech....I'm getting there. Oh and that Mr. Wahlberg? He gave me one hella sexy smirk with my "DONNIE, SERIOUSLY MAKE OUT TIME PLEASE!?" JFC. Loved it.
"What about Joe?" you ask. Here it is...
Right off the bat Joe sees my "Let's Get This" sign. It was ADORABLE. It said "Let's Get This" (well duhhh) and a picture of him and I in the middle of it. He smiled, winked and waved…*dead* This happened through most of the night. He would legit find me during every song and stare at me, even from across the stage. Homeboy needed some love and he got some! We sang to each other during "Where Do I Go From Here?" (beautiful) and I held up the "JOE, Your NYC Girls!" that had an arrow pointing to us. He loved it....naturally. I would get winks, head nods, pointing through different songs…*buried*
As you all know, during his "LET'S GET THIS" speech he usually brings up a sign. I was the only damn person in the first 6 rows who had a "Let's Get This" sign and FML, Donnie ruined my time. Typical. He starts bringing up these girls on stage [I am ashamed of this part, but it needs to be said. I look back and am THRILLED for them, but at the time I was kinda angry...blame it on the ah-ah-ah-ah-alcohol!] Joe saw me and the next thing I know my sign was on the Tron!!! Fabulous! I would rather him have held it up, because that is what I planned in my head, but I digress. The rest of the show sped along and "Hangin' Tough" was upon us. This is where it gets FUCKING EPIC!!!
During "Hanging Tough" I held up a sign..."NYCya LATER!" and Joe sees it and laughs! Perfect! The end of "Hanging Tough" Joe spots me again and I am waving my damn "Let's Get This" sign like a mad woman and he holds out his arms like Jesus Christ himself and says "what?" (with that confused look he does) trying to read my lips, because obviously he can't hear me. Now what I was screaming was "You take this! Have it!!! TAKE THE SIGN, YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!!!" ova and ovaaa. Why I wanted him to have it so badly...I don't know. It just seemed like the right thing to say at the time. Guess he did want it though, because homeboy called me over. I was about 3 people in in our row and everyone moved out of my way. Once I got to the aisle is where I became a beast and started to squeeze through people saying, "excuse me!!! Joe is calling me...'CUSE MEEEEE!!!" Once I finally got up there and looked into his eyes and him reaching out to me, he proceeded to tell me to "come on back"…BACKSTAGE!!! AHHHH!!! WHAAAT!?! *happy dance* (Here is video proof from 3:45-3:47 and 5:10-5:45...)
To the girl who caught this...I love you, but I LOVE HIM!!! Grace ended up being right behind me and we ran to grab our things, but I turned around and waved at Joe one last time. He smiled and threw me a kiss *dead and goneX1,000,000* So we get 'after show passes' and wait. A little while later, Armando called me down (we were sitting in one hundred section of seats) and says "Joe is taking a bit longer than expected, but he wanted to make sure you were still here and he wasn't holding you up"…are you kidding? My response, "tell him to take all the time he needs, we will be here" he laughed and walked away.
Finally, we are ushered backstage and 2 minutes later Joe came out and brought us all the way back himself. He was sooooooo sweet. Even Grace (who had ranked Joe her least fave) was in awe. His eyes, his smile, his mmmmmm. We gave him hugs and during my hug I put my hand on the back of his head. His hair is SOFT! We talked for a bit, told him we were going to Denny's and he should join us. This fool goes, "Denny's? Like the grand slam?" We say yes and he does that Joey smile and says, "Aww thank you! I wish I could, but I am going to have to pass." He asks if we want to take a picture, so I go first. Taking pictures throughout the night my camera was slowly dying, so I go to take Grace's. "1…2…3…" *CAMERA DIES* Joe screams "OH NO!!!" I panic and start to say "It is ok, we got this, let's get this, we got this, I will take it on my phone, it's fine!" I am such a dweeb for repeating "let's get this" over and over!
Joe and I. The two whitest people on the planet. I love you, Joe.
Joe: Now explain to me the snorkels and "Flash Flood"
After picture time he made us explain the "FLASH FLOOD" to him and
other signs to him. [For people who don't know about the flash floods...you will now] This is how it went:
*Grace and I look at each other*
Me: Now Joe, don't make me explain it to you!
Joe: Is it diiiirty? *Sticks tongue between teeth and lifts eyebrows* (I was DONE!)
Grace: Wellll…you know how Donnie always talks about moisture?
Joe: *Laughs!* Ohh got it! We were wondering what that meant.
Did this man really look at me and ask if my signs were "diiiiirty" and then put his tongue between his teeth? He is lucky I didn't rip his clothes off. He proceeded to tell us that we held the "NYCya Later" up at the perfect moment. We told him we know how to get things done and I believe I threw in a "you have to Go Big or Go Home" in there somewhere.
While we were speaking to him, I saw Donnie come through a door and get attacked by girls. I tried to get Grace's attention, but she was mesmerized by Joe (go figure) and she wasn't paying attention. Donnie and I caught eyes while he was mid picture with some girls and he screamed, "Your signs were ON POINT tonight girls!!" (this still makes me smile, because I really take pride in my signs) Grace turned around so fast! DONNIE LOVED OUR SIGNS!!! Our hotel was right across the street from a Denny's so we made a sign, "For after show eats, come to Denny's", so Grace held it up for him to read. Well this boy is special ed, because he says "DANNY'S!?! WHY WOULD I WANT TO GO TO DANNY'S?" We scream "nooo Denny's!!!"…idiot. I turned back to Joe and continued talking (while he is holding our signs) and this girl comes over and asks for a quick picture. Joe asks if we would mind and we said, "umm no." Did this man really ask if we would mind? I can't. Grace and I asked if she wants us to take one for her whole group, so we do. Little did we know, they planned on keeping Joe for a while. Armando told us we had to leave. I asked if we can get a quick hug from Donnie and he told us that since we were back there for Joe…no we couldn't. WTF!?! Fine, ok, whatever. So I yell over to Joe, "Joe! They are kicking us out, but thank you SOOO much!" He moved the girls out of the way, looked me dead in the eye, took my hand and said, "no problem sweetie" and shook my hand…fuckingggg dead!
So we were lighter than air and ecstatic! We may have skipped out of the arena, but who wouldn't? Once we got outside, we looked at each other and said…"buses?" We jetted to the corner where the buses are located. We first headed to one bus and it was the crew bus, but we looked down the street and there was the BDB. Jackpot. We were ushered across the street, because you couldn't stand on the sidewalk in between the 2 buses (there was about 200 feet between the 2 of them). We saw Donnie get on the bus, so I said "Fuck this" and walked right in front of the parked BDB where I saw Danny sitting down. I held my "Donnie, seriously make out time" sign (yeah I STILL love that sign!) and I guess he recognized me or has really good eye sight, because he called Donnie over. Next thing you know Donnie was calling us onto the bus. Yeah…don't get excited. It was the Borgata part 2 (a must read if you ask me), because next thing you know a Syracuse cop comes and PUSHES me off the sidewalk, grabs Grace's arm and dragged us into the middle of the busy street. We tried telling him, "Donnie Wahlberg is RIGHT THERE calling us on to the bus" and his response? "Well if you want to get on the bus, call him on his cell phone." Real cute. The whole time Donnie was giving us signs to throw the cop out of the way and get on the bus. FUCK.OUR.LIVES!!! We were bummed and headed off to Denny's to stuff our faces (their french toast was delish!). I knew exactly how Grace felt, because sadly I went through it before, but I was not letting that cop ruin my night. I got love from all of them, got backstage and fell in love with Joe. What more could a girl ask for? We had one upset, but look what we got. I am forever grateful.
This is the night I became a full fledged Joe girl. Borgata was just a little taste of it, but this night...I never looked back. He will probably NEVER understand how much that night means to me. It will always hold a special place in my heart. It is every girls dream to get called backstage in the middle of a show by a member of her favorite group and it happened to me. If I ever get a chance to thank him, it would be for that night. He made me feel like the only girl in the room. Looking back and reading this over (...and over), I really see how truly blessed I have been. *sigh* Thank you Joe, just...thank you.
